West Side to Present at MNACHC Conference (Oct. 18th, 2010)

West Side Community Health Services will present at the Minnesota Association of Community Health Centers’ Many Faces of Community Health Conference on Friday, October 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

West Side’s Associate Medical Director Kathie Culhane-Pera along with consultant Shannon Pergament and community members will present “SoLaHmo Partnership for Health and Wellness: Caafimad – Salud – Kev Nyob Zoo.” SoLaHmo is a community-driven partnership between Somali, Latino, and Hmong community members, the University of Minnesota and West Side Community Health Services.

The presentation will showcase several of SoLaHmo’s innovative community-based participatory action research initiatives. SoLaHmo is a model that demonstrates how community members, researchers and clinicians can work together to make a significant difference in communities’ health and wellness by tapping into community strengths and wisdom.
