National Nurse Midwifery Week (Oct. 3rd, 2016)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
West Side Community Health Services joins in celebrating National Nurse Midwifery Week during October 2nd through the 8th.

Started in 1995, our midwifery service has grown to a vibrant group of dedicated providers. In addition to attending over 500 births a year at Regions Hospital, our midwives provide a wide range of women’s health services including: pregnancy care, family planning services, breast cancer screening, pap smears and sexual health.

Our midwife team was recently nationally recognized by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) for their exemplary outcomes caring for women having Vaginal Births after Cesarean Sections (VBACs).

Our midwives pride themselves on providing women-centered care that empowers women in their lives and their understanding of their bodies. With an array of sliding fee and insurance programs targeted for women’s health, their services are accessible to the whole community. In a variety of languages and a diverse set of cultural contexts, our midwives meet women where they are and walk with them through some of life’s most memorable transitions.

This week, we take a moment to celebrate their hard work on behalf of our community and our organization.
